Extension of Comments Deadline: Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Amendment Bill, 2026

Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Act 19/1998

The Department of Human Settlements (DHS), on 16 April 2026, invited the public to submit comments on the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Amendment Bill, 2026. The DHS published in the Government Gazette no: 54526, Vol 730, 2026 with the 16 June 2026 as the closing date for the submission of public comments.

While the DHS has received substantial public comments on the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Amendment Bill, 2026, in the spirit of promoting maximum public participation, the submission of public comments is hereby extended with 30 days from publication of this Notice.
