In terms of section 84(2)(f) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, the President has appointed a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into criminality, political interference and corruption in the Criminal Justice System arising from the specific allegations made public by Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi on 6 July 2025, with the terms of reference in the Schedule attached thereto.
