The Minister of Environmental Affairs has under section 7(2)(a) of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 (Act No. 59 of 2008), set national norms and standards for the sorting, shredding, grinding, crushing, screening or baling of general waste, as listed in the Schedule.
