The Director General of Health, in terms of Chapter 3, Section 21(2) (b)(ii) of the National Health Act, 2003, has replaced the National Environmental Health Norms and Standards for Premises and Acceptable Monitoring Standards for Environmental Health Practitioners, published in the Government Gazette 39561 of 24 December 2015.
The Norms and Standards are in line with the National Department of Health's strategic goal of strengthening environmental health by contributing to improved water, sanitation, waste management, and food services.
